TLJ + Pepper Lunch Day

Since I (and E) haven't blow my birthday cake for this year, E surprised me with a Rose Inspiration Fresh Cream Cake fresh from Chef's hands at Tous Les Jours, SM Southmall. I was really fascinated on their creative cake designs. The cake was made when E ordered on that same day, so I can say, it was freshly made by the chef. Around an hour's time, I guess. We had a fresh ambiance outside the new Food Street wing of SM Southmall, and there we blew our birthday cake.
The cake was exemplary appealing. Can I just look at this delectable piece of cake?
We started to put the colorful petite candles and borrowed a lighter from the chef. Happy Birthday. Yes, I'm finally forever twenty-two. I had the first slice of the cake and checked what's inside that pretty cake in front of us.
Verdict? Oh, it has real strawberry bits on the first layer of chiffon cake. The red powder on top tasted sour - strawberry. The sweetness of the icing was just enough, not to the level of the usual cake's icing. The chiffon was soft, and the strawberries were fresh. Not your ordinary kind of strawberry cake. It's a bit sour because the strawberry flavor stands out rather than the sweetness.

Pepper Lunch celebrated its 3rd Anniversary at Alabang Town Center last July 23, 2012. Thus, they gave their customers Beef Pepper Rice for only 100 php! Since I really love Pepper Lunch, we (together with Einer and Nicel) went there around dinner time. Luckily, we didn't wait that long to have our seats inside. I thought that the serving, especially the beef, wasn't that much like the normal-not-discounted-price. I wasn't sure though, since it looked their normal serving. Haha!
Looks excited for our 100 bucks Beef Pepper Rice! :)
You judge on its serving. :p

Series of Birthdates

Eight-day gap between our birthdates, E and I had a bunch of surprises within our birthday week. I allot my birthday for my family so I scheduled E on the 26th. I don't want to ruin the surprise so I didn't ask E what's the plan for that day - all he said was we'll watch a movie then have dinner at Makati. However, we were not able to watch a movie since E got an urgent thesis meeting. Upon arrival at Makati, we went to Giligan's, Glorietta 5 to have our dinner. After around 20 minutes of waiting for food (?), Angge and my friends came. And yes, Reanne was also there! :)
Finally, perfect bloom Stargazers!! :)
Thank you E! :") ES ♥ without Manny and Ed.

Two days after, I surprised him with a blocked screening of The Amazing Spiderman at Newport Cinemas at 9 AM. I won these two movie tickets from Resorts World Manila's Click Flick at Twitter. The funny part is, after I won these tickets, he invited me to join his family to watch also The Amazing Spiderman at IMAX, Mall of Asia that day at 7 PM. After the movie, we had our sumptuous lunch at Sizzling Pepper Steak, chilled, then rode the free shuttle to Mall of Asia. We meet his mom and ate our early dinner at Burgoo.

Finally, I permed my hair at Tony and Jackey, SM North Edsa The Block on that weekend. The whole process lasted for about three and a half hours since they treated my dry hair first. Good thing they have this digital mirror (a mirror with a 'TV screen' inside) so I watched the movie, Mirror Mirror, while they're treating my hair! :) Bongga!

We went to Mall of Asia on E's birthday. I rushed to Sophie's Mom to buy these cupcakes for E even if it's raining. I also cooked my own version of Pepper Rice with Dory Fillet for him as his lunch. He was surprised for his packed lunch ~ Mission Accomplished! :) We watched Kimmy Dora 2 and bought cream puffs at Chewy Junior. Yummy sweets for the day are found on my previous post, Rainbows are Real

We had our dinner at Racks. We just ordered a meal for one person, which consists of a Quarter Rack Pork Rib, Rice, Salad, Clam Chowder, Cheese and Broccoli. We ordered an extra side dish, Mac and Cheese. We were really full, I swear!! Racks never fail to make my stomach full and my taste buds happy. :)

What a wonderful week!

Twenteen and two

Gaaah. Getting older but still young at heart. I celebrated my birthday at Dusit Thani Hotel in Makati. Unfortunately, I was sick the night before my birthday so I wasn't able to eat much during our dinner at Sentro, Greenbelt 3.

I really have no idea where to eat dinner, but since we got to Greenbelt and this one's on my "Resto List", I suggested to eat at Sentro. The waiters were not that accommodating even though the restaurant is not full of customers.
Le them while choosing what to order. Of course I suggested their best seller, Sinigang na corned beef.
Pandan Lemon Cooler - A different taste of drink. Lemony at first with an after-taste of pandan. Worth a try! :)
Boneless Crispy Trotter - Deboned Crispy Pata. The best crispy pata I've ever tasted. Aside from its crunchiness, it's deboned so customers will not have a hard time on eating this.
Sinigang na Corned Beef - Corned beef short ribs and boneless shanks in tamarind broth. The beef was really tender and delicious. Before they serve this dish, they will offer a cup of sinigang soup to check your desired sourness of the dish. That's really a great idea since some people don't want too much sourness of the dish. This bowl is for sharing serving, a bit small? Maybe or maybe not. The bowl is full of vegetables and beef, and don't have much soup. We didn't got a chance of asking for more soup, but I think they really give additional soup for the sinigang.
 Almost done eating!
Maja Blanca - Free dessert for every 500php on your bill during Sundays. They also have Classic Ginataan but I didn't got a chance to have a picture of it.
Family picture with Yano who don't want to face the camera but wants to join the picture.
After having our sumptuous dinner at Sentro, we proceed to the Swimming Pool of Dusit Hotel since Aki, Yano, and Mom wants to swim though the pool is just open until 9 PM.
No, this is not ours. But I really find it cute when I see miniature type of things.
Dusit Hotel's Swimming Pool at 10 AM.
Though they really have a great location (beside the hotel are shopping malls like Glorietta, easy access to different places since it's beside EDSA, bunch of food choices, etc.), staying at Dusit is really not that relaxing since it lies in Makati, and beside this is EDSA. Aside from seeing trees, you'll see cars all around the area.
Buffet Lunch at Basix, Dusit Hotel.
Shrimps, Chicken, and Lamb meat. Very tender and tasty!
Mom and I tried there pasta. They'll cook it first with your choice of ingredients and pasta. Personally, I   didn't like it very much. I hate the bacon, it doesn't smell good. Haha.

I don't feel perfectly fine that moment so I didn't ate much. They don't have tempura, they only serve it during dinner. Their buffet doesn't appetizing aside from the desserts. I like their cheesecake! But I appreciate the chef that personally went out of the kitchen and suggested good dishes for us. Their staff was really accommodating. Though I'm not on a buffet mode, I think the food at that moment was limited. I want to go back here to experience the Family Crossover Brunch Buffet during Sundays, maybe it will change my feedback on their buffet. I heard it's really one of the best!

Still no cake. It's not too late to blow a birthday cake! Yay, I hope someone give me a birthday cake from Tous Les Jours, I'm a fan of their decorative cakes. I hope it taste good. :)

♥ Not officially a twenteen-two, A :)

What I really love at Conti's

I know I posted this from my previous blog at wordpress. I really like my shots here so I just wanted to post it. ;)

First thing I love at Conti's is their cheese puffs. I'm so into it that I can eat a dozen of it. It's so creamy and sweet! Oh, you gotta love that too! It looks like the usual empanada, but who knows, when you bite it, comes with a surprise! ;) Second thing I love at Conti's is their cakes! I know for sure, you've already heard the famous Mango Bravo cake. It looks really tall and bountiful, but I bet a slice wouldn't be enough for this mouthwatering cake. Third thing I really love at Conti's is their entree. They have different entrees to choose from, though they're a bit pricy, their food really tastes good! I was with my parents and two bestfriends, Aira and Nicel in this sumptuous lunch at Conti's Pastry Shop & Restaurant in Serendra.
Pastel de Lengua (P 250.00) – The fact that lengua is an ox’s tongue makes me not to order it. The presentation of the food is elegant. It just not look good on the outside, but also tastes good when it comes to your mouth!
Roast Beef in Mushroom Sauce (P 295.00) – The sauce is good, the beef is tender. But i really don’t like and eat the tendon or ‘litid’ part. Though my tongue is satisfied for craving beef, this is not the best beef I ever tasted. Still, I’m wanting to go back to Highlands Steakhouse. I don't remember if that messy part of the sauce is for the rice or unluckily just had a fair food presentation.

Chicken ala Kiev (P 250.00) – It is like a cordon bleu without the ham. The taste of the herbs inside the chicken with the cheese was really great! The creamy sauce was a delightful combination to the chicken. I wish I was the one who ordered this dish, because this was really delicious! I guarantee you, this would be the best (or one of the best) cordon bleu ever! ;)
Mango Cheesecake (P 70.00) – Just awesome. This slice of cake was enough for us as our dessert. We were really full from the main course and we are really satisfied for this single slice as our dessert. We didn’t ordered the usual Mango Bravo slice, which is the best seller of the restaurant. We already know its taste so we tried another. We have a bloated stomach after and left the restaurant with a smile. ;)
With my bestfriend Aira with a unique not-so-vain shot.
My bestfriend Nicel with this not-so-vain shot. I miss you Nicel. By the way, she's on her on-the-job-training like work on California. She's there from March to June. Oh, I'm so jealous! :| I still don't have my Visa. Why?!
Hi :) This was my first picture edited in Adobe Lightroom... And I forgot to save it as preset. :|
